The Yesteryears

The Early Days Around 1995 to Early 2000's

I enjoyed the early days when my middle daughter and I would spend a day hitting as many flea-markets we could find looking for things to put in the Bear Hollow Inn and to use when I planned for the bears and Miss Hollyhock, the cook I created for the inn, to have a tea party.  Miss Hollyhock, my overgrown hare had a large role role to play and took her role seriously.  Bears love blackberry pie and nobody made them like Miss Hollyhock.

The Old Make-believe Bear Hollow Inn

I love to talk about the yesteryears, the days when our property was buzzing with activity.  Goats, chickens, ducks and grandkids filled my days with laughter and joy.  Dogs, cats and indoor birds kept the house a pleasant place to be when weather was bad.  It was on those rainy or snowy days that I spent making my charming teddy bears, each one unique with a personality of its own.  I drew my own patterns so it was always a surprise to see the results, sometimes really good and then others that had a face that hopefully someone else might think was cute!  I kept many of my bears, each to be a guest that would visit our make-believe Bear Hollow Inn.  Each was given a name and a role to play in the on-going story we were creating.

A Bear Hollow Scrapbook that I created featuring my bears for my personal use.
Creating photo books and scrapbooks for my pleasure is a great hobby!

I am and always will be a crafter!  I like designing new things, I enjoy scrapbooking, sewing clothes for my bears and dolls, and most of all playing with the things I make!
